No one could have guessed the personal hell Lara Logan was enduring as the rest of the world celebrated the Egyptian people's new freedom after the resignation of dictator Hosni Mubarak on Feb. 11. Only four days later, with the release of a terse statement from CBS, did we learn that Logan had been separated from her crew in Tahrir Square, beaten and sexually assaulted before being rescued by a group of Egyptian women and soldiers. At the most basic level, Logan's harrowing experience highlighted the dangers all journalists, and especially female reporters, face in choosing to cover conflicts.
